Surprised by the lack of California wine made from Mediterranean island varieties that we drink regularly and love, and that should thrive in our climate, we were inspired to create William Lane Wine Company. 

Our mission is to discover the potential of grapes from Sicily, Sardinia, and Santorini in the diverse microclimates and geologies of California by working with vineyards across the state, from Temecula Valley in the south to the redwood-covered mountains of Mendocino County in the north. 

In the years ahead, we hope to bring new varieties to California and establish the first plantings of these special grapes.

In the winery, our goal is to ensure that varietal characteristics are prominent and clearly expressed. We try to capture the energy and sunshine of the Mediterranean by making bright, refreshing wines that are a joy to drink.
